The EDC and the Florida-Israel Business Accelerator hosted six Israel-based companies considering starting or expanding U.S. operations this week during a “meet the companies” event aimed at encouraging the businesses to consider the Tampa Bay area. The purpose of Tuesday’s event at 3 Daughters Brewing was to give the Israeli companies access to existing business talent within the region including representatives from Florida Blue, Tech Data, Presence and GrowFL, among others. One company “had a good connection” with St. Pete, said EDC President J.P. DuBuque. “As with any company, [these Israeli companies] are really looking for connections and opportunities that can help them grow their business,” DuBuque said.
