FIBA’s Business Development Manager will lead the effort to grow the FIBA network of industry partners and investors.  The Business Development Manager will identify, curate, and manage business relationships and partnerships that will open doors for FIBA’s Israeli companies.  This person will network across the state of Florida to establish new – and strengthen existing – connections with entrepreneurial, business, investor, and governmental communities and organizations.  Success will be measured by the economic impact of the Israeli companies in Florida, including pilot projects established, commercial deals closed, jobs created, and offices opened/expanded.  This role will report directly to the FIBA Co-Executive Directors and have no staff to supervise.

Business Development Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify and establish new partnerships for FIBA with industry, government, investor, and trade associations and organizations
  • Nurture relationships with entrepreneurial support organizations (ESOs)
  • Build Investor network
  • Develop and implement a plan for identifying and curating opportunities for FIBA companies 
  • Make strategic introductions for FIBA companies 
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings for FIBA companies 
  • Track all introductions, connections, and meetings in FIBA’s CRM system (Hubspot)
  • Conduct regular follow-up discussions with all FIBA companies to track progress and results
  • Prepare FIBA companies for meetings 
  • Activate the community to open doors for FIBA companies
  • Represent FIBA at ecosystem, industry, and community events and meetings 
  • Additional responsibilities may be mutually identified

Business Development Manager Qualifications/Skills:

  • 3+ years of business development experience
  • Ability to take full ownership of assigned projects and can work independently
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to strategize and think creatively – AND to implement these ideas to achieve results
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
  • Proactive approach to resolving problems and issues 
  • Flexibility to attend evening events and travel within the state of Florida
  • Good organizational, planning, and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Good verbal presentation, group dynamic, and facilitation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, HubSpot, Linkedin, Google apps
  • Preferred work experience in high tech industry and/or in a start-up or innovation role
